Food Truck Trend

Food Truck Sensation

Food will be rolling your way soon...

Food trends come and go and change.  Trends change from season to season.  They usually catch on quick and then  appear everywhere. Food trucks have been around for awhile but never received the proper attention. The mobile food establishment has revamped the food items from what it used to be such as hot dogs, roasted peanuts, and churros to more filling and gourmet items from many different nationalities. This is the start of a new establishment boom that is catching on.  It will definitely have an impact on and be competition for present and future establishments.

The food industry relies on competition to always push itself towards new ideas and make necessary improvement that benefit the establishment.  Food trucks will add to the excitement of the industry, but will always be viewed as a quick service or even a quick bite to eat.  Fine dining restaurants won’t be intimidated. On the other hand, family restaurants, quick-service and even the sandwich shops should be aware of the trend for the food truck is perfect for customers that may be going to work, limited on time for lunch, as well as for beach and park goers, or even college students on a budget.

I view the food truck sensation as a breath of new creativity where chefs and business owners can show off their hidden talents.  Food trucks are very versatile and can be seasonal or be available year-round.  If any food entrepreneurs are considering to add to the culinary world and open a restaurant but don’t have the funds, they should consider food trucks since it would be less than half the cost of a small restaurant to start up and operate.  I firmly believe with the current economy that the number of food trucks will triple in the next five years.  I believe food trucks will be seen all over the nation providing gourmet meals that are affordable and delicious.

  1. Now that is fine dining!

On another note I have seen a lot of food trucks around lately. I know during the summer occasionally I'll flag one down and just get my lunch at work when he drives by. Reasonable prices and good food.
