The adventures of a culinary student are a constant journey with a lifetime of memories. I live by a simple motto: "Travel - Cook - Learn." Cooking can be simple; all you need is passion and someone to inspire you. When I come across pictures, stories, places or even recipes, I will share them for all.

Java Chat: To coffee or Not to Coffee?

_-Java Chat-_

Once Upon a time..

Is coffee the liquid of the gods?  If it isn’t then many people are confused since this popular beverage is a must have just like the iPhone. Coffee for the majority of people is a prerequisite to the start of their day. In the morning, I find I am able to categorize someone as either a caffeinated person or non-caffeinated person. The morning travels are the top priority for coffee shops, since this is the prime hour for coffee purchases.  But do we really need coffee to function?  Doesn’t water or juice provide substitutions for the need for coffee?  We are hooked; we have a problem and it’s a crazy addiction we can’t avoid.  If you think about the #1 thing people buy daily, it would be hot coffee or iced coffee. Coffee, in reality, is a want but the need and desire to have it and to start our days and to get through the workweek make it an essential part of living. My investigation into society’s dependence on coffee continues to reveal the coffee myths, folklores and legends as I try to find the absolute truth that answers the questions: Why the obsession with coffee? and Will our generation pass down our coffee habits to the next generation to start coffee consumption at an even younger age than we did?
